Last updated: 14 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Wow Storage (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit www.wowstorage.co.uk (the “Website”), enquire about our services, or rent a storage unit from us. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Wow Storage is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us using the details above.

2. The information we collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal information.

  • Identity and contact details (your name, email address, phone number, and where relevant your postal address) when you submit our enquiry, quote, or contact forms, or when you sign up for a storage unit.
  • Booking and payment information when you reserve or pay for a storage unit. Payment card details are entered directly into our payment provider’s secure systems and are not stored on our servers.
  • Correspondence and other information you choose to send us by email, phone, or through our website.

  • Analytics and advertising platforms (Google and Meta/Facebook) may share aggregated and pseudonymised data about how visitors interact with our site.

4. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:

  • Service providers and processors acting on our instructions — for example, our IT and website hosting providers, email and CRM platforms, and customer support tools.
  • Payment processor — card payment information is processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe or equivalent), which handles the transaction under its own privacy policy.
  • Analytics providers — Google LLC for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Advertising platforms — Meta Platforms, Inc. for the Facebook Pixel, where you have consented to marketing cookies.
  • Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, and insurers where required.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or courts where we are legally required to do so.

All processors are required by contract to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. International data transfers

Some of our service providers — including Google and Meta — are based outside the UK, primarily in the United States. When we transfer personal data outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an adequate level of safeguard, typically the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional measures required.

6. How long we keep your information

We only keep personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy.

  • Enquiry and quote data: up to 12 months from your last contact with us.
  • Customer and booking records: for the duration of your storage agreement and 6 years afterwards, to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
  • Website analytics data: typically up to 14 months, subject to your cookie choices.
  • CCTV footage at our sites: usually retained for 30 days unless required for a specific incident.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@wowstorage.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no fee, unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

8. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, understand how it is used, and (with your consent) deliver relevant advertising.

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, such as remembering your cookie preferences and supporting the booking flow.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Marketing and advertising — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

You can manage your cookie choices at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in our cookie banner, or by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

For more information on how Google and Meta use cookies, see their privacy policies:

9. Marketing

We will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing info@wowstorage.co.uk. Opting out of marketing will not stop you receiving service-related communications about a booking you have made.

10. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and vetting of third-party processors. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

11. Children

Our services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the latest version came into effect. Please check back periodically.

13. How to complain

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at info@wowstorage.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve it.

You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority:
